Mangalore, Oct 26: The Gandhinagar Zonal-level sports meet, "Suvarna Kridotsava-2006" was inaugurated at Mangala Stadium here on Thursday October 26 morning.

The sports meet was inaugurated by M R Poovamma, an international-level junior athlete from the district.  Ganapa A Devadiga, branch manager, The Shamrao Vithal Cooperative Bank Ltd, presided over the inaugural function.

Yellur Rarmkishor Rao of Y Ramrao and Co. hoisted the sports flag on the occasion.  Lion Tharanath Shetty Bolar, president, Makarajyothi Chits Pvt Ltd and Walter H D'Mello, Block Education Officer (BEO) were the chief guests on the occasion.
