Agra, Oct 25 (Bhaskar News) : In a fresh twist to British couple suicide case, family members of the deceased have made a weird statement saying that they committed suicide after seeing the poverty of India.
They out-rightly refused to accept the version of police who say that the couple could have died because of overdose of sleeping pills.
The young British couple was found dead at a hotel in Tajganj area of Agra on Tuesday afternoon. Police have sent the bodies for postmortem but presence of sleeping pills and other tablets in the room make them believe they had probably died of drug overdose.
The deceased have been identified as James Oliver Gaskell, 28, and Alexandra Nichola Louise Gaskell, 24, residents of Birmingham in the UK.

They arrived in India on 11 July and reached Agra on 18 October after which they book a room in Maya Hotel in Tajganj area.
According to SSP Shalabh Mathur, the death occurred at night as the food they had ordered the night before lay untouched.
The police have also recovered a diary which has details about their Tour in India. It has been taken in possession by cops and they are further investigating into the matter.
