Mangalore, Oct 27: After the mayoral elections on Thursday October 26 in which Vijaya Arun and Abdul Saleem were officially elected mayor and deputy mayor of MCC, elections were also held to elect members of the 4 standing committees. Accordingly following members have been elected to the different committees.
Town Planning and Development Committee:
Kamalaksha Salian, Abdul Azeez, Lancelot Pinto, James D'Souza, and Kavita Sanil from Congress and Muralidhar Bolar and Premanand Shetty from BJP.
Finance and Tax Committee:
Mohammad Nawaz, Shahanaz, Nafisa Abubakar, Gulzar Bhanu and Gilbert Pinto of Congress, Ganesh Rao and Mariamma Thomas from BJP.
Health Committee:
Purandara Kulur, Nagaveni, Mahabal Marla, Sesamma and Farook (Congress), Rajani Duggana and Navinchandra from BJP.
Audit Committee:
Sonia D'Souza, Sarala Karkera, Vanitha, Deepak Poojary and Kavya Nagendra from Congress, Janaki alias Vedavati and Venkatesh Achar from Congress.
Chief Whip: K Krishnappa Mendon (Congress)
Leader of the opposition: M Shankar Bhat (BJP).
