25 suspected militants killed in Pakistan

Islamabad, Oct 27 (IANS): At least 25 suspected militants were killed and 10 injured Monday in airstrikes in Pakistan's North Waziristan region.

According to officials, the victims also included two Uzbek militants, Dawn online reported.

The jets targeted militant hideouts in Lataka, Sanzai, Danari and other adjoining areas.

In June, the Pakistan army began an offensive dubbed Operation Zarb-i-Azb against militant hideouts in North Waziristan tribal agency after a bloody raid on Karachi airport ended faltering peace talks between the government and Pakistani Taliban militants.
