Six killed in Afghanistan attack


Kabul, Oct 27 (IANS): A group of suicide bombers stormed the office of a prosecuting attorney in the Afghan city of Kunduz, 250 km north of Kabul Monday, leaving six people dead and seven wounded, security official Abdullah said.

"A group of suicide bombers stormed the office of prosecutor in Kunduz city at 1.20 p.m. today carrying out a suicide attack and firing gun shots leaving six people, including three police and a civilian dead, and wounding seven others," Abdullah told reporters.

A suicide bomber blew up his explosives-laden car next to the gate of the prosecutor's office, enabling three others to enter and start shooting at those inside the compound, Xinhua reported citing the official. Two attackers are also among those killed in the bloody attack.

He also said that the security personnel had brought the situation under control and were searching the area.
