Kundapur, Oct 28: Three young women and a young man were arrested on charges of conversion in the Markod area near Koteshwar here on Friday October 27.

The arrested Robin, Karen, Asha alias Asharani and Flavin are said to be from Mabukal area near Brahmavar.  They were held by members of local Hindu organizations led by Girish Kundapur.

In a complaint with the police, Girish has stated that the arrested were visiting the houses of Hindus and misleading the people. He also said that they were trying to convert people to Christianity.

Meanwhile, the arrested said that they were not promoting conversion but only preaching their beliefs.  "We have not forced anyone to get converted.  We do not believe in forceful conversion," they said.

However, police have taken them to custody and are investigating them.
