Moodbidri, Oct 28: Noted educationist and chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, Dr Mohan Alva has bagged the prestigious "Pingara Rajyotsava Award-2006" given by Pingara Kannada fortnightly (the only Kannada newspapers run by Christian in the coastal belt).

The constant support given to the rural students towards their education and giving importance to sports and culture along with value-based education to build a healthy society are some facts considered to be the main aspects that clinched award to Dr Mohan Alva. 

The award will be conferred at a formal function to be held at Moodbidri Samaja Mandir here on Wednesday November 1 at 9 am.
