Lagos, Nov 1 (IANS): Nigeria's football governing body has accepted the plea by its national technical director, Shaibu Amodu, for the return of Stephen Keshi as head coach of the team.
The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) said the association's technical committee accepted Amodu's plea to reconsider Keshi, a statement said Friday, reports Xinhua.
It was announced Oct 16 that Amodu would take over the senior squad, hours after the team's 1-3 defeat to Sudan in Abuja.
However, in a letter dated Oct 27 and addressed to NFA chairman Amaju Pinnick, through the technical committee chairman, Amodu had pleaded that Keshi be reconsidered.
He had said the time-frame available for him was too short to tinker with the fabric of the squad or start to build a new one altogether.
