CHENNAI, Nov 1 (PTI) : Toughening his stance against the Congress high command, former Union shipping minister G K Vasan on Saturday gave ample indications of breaking away from the party and reviving the erstwhile Tamil Maanila Congress.

"I will announce my next plan of action on November 3," he told reporters here after holding consultations for the second day with his supporters, which included former MLAs Vellore Gnanasekaran and Vidiyal Sekar.

Raising the "Valamana Tamilagam, Valimayana Bharatham," (prosperous Tamil Nadu, vibrant India) slogan coined during the founding of Tamil Maanila Congress in 1996 by his father G K Moopanar, Vasan left none in doubt about his next plan.

    dont worry, every dog has his day. not very long, just 5 years ago people were thinking that BJP era was over. it will never come up again. the rest is the history. what i understand is that indian voters are not fool. you cannot fool them. a single mistake is enough to show them their door. beware politicians!

    Like this, if congress looses hold of national or regional politics, then communists, AAP and third front will gain.
    They all will come together and forge formidable alliance against BJP.
    Strong Leader will emerge. Political equations will go for drastic change. I can visualize that.

    Kamraj was a great Leader from TN.He was the most popular and the best to lead Indian National Congress after Nehru.Indira Gandhi shrewdly campained that he doesnt speak good Hindi and sidelined him .Eversince that Congress lost ground in TN and then Dravidan parties took birth .Now also High command not giving importance to P Chidambaram and Vasan both hence Now Vasan and shortly I am sure PC will also join him

    In the May 2014 LS elections BJP increased vote share in Kerala from 5% to 10.3%, won more than 1 lakh votes in 5 seats(A first), won 1 seat in Tamil Nadu(Kanniyakumari) Won 17 seats in Karnataka (Congress 9 seats that too 3 seats by margin< 3000 votes) In AP, ZERO seats for Congress, BJP won 3 out of 5 contested. In Telengana BJP won 2 seats (One Secunderabad) Congress ZERO

    BJP's romping of RAJNI KANTH was a non starter as Rajani personally met AMMA to congratulate her.Under the circumstances DMK still not recovered from 2G and internal tussle...Therefore,GK Wasan with Congress or with out.....No big deal

    Congress Mukth Bharath is a dream of Modi/hardcore cheddys and I think it will remain as distant dream.With regarding TN politics,Modi and team tried it's best to placate Rajani Kanth but he(RK)did fall in to the prey of evils'therefore,I don't think Congress is going to loose due to Wasan or whatsoever.(A)DMK is rotating power in TN for quite long time.

    Ismail, A deep analysis of 2014 LS polls & the 20 odd bye elections, Assembly elections in Maha & Haryana will clearly show you that the Grand Old 150 year old party is definately on the DECLINE....From 216 seats in 2009 to 44 in 2014, ZERO seats in 14 states, LOOSING ALL seats in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, HP, , Chattisgarh, Goa& Jharkhand..Non starter in TN Where ALL CONGRESS candidates LOST deposits, loosing Maharashtra & Haryana will show that INDIA is INDEED ON WAY TO A CONGRESS MUKTH BHARAT!

    Not even LoP for this party, Corruption charges in numerous SCAMS, Defeat after defeats, POOR LEADERSHIP, Sycophancy Dynasty d etc show that Congress is on complete washout everywhere...But you being BLIND SUPPORTER feet licking of CHOR party will not listen or see this data....Don't be a BLIND supporter, you denied MODI WAVE, but does not know what is hitting you!!!

    Two things, Rajani may never come to active politics.. he didnt come during his hey days and massive public request... I doubt he will come in future too.. So i Dont know who gave u that idea..

    Second, any film actor/businessman wont switch side and go to opponents party, especially when Amma or DMK in power..! only when "TAKTA PALAT RAJNEETI" comes and there is a need to change the got (election time), people will make their stand clear..! so, Rajni writing a letter to JJ is friendly gesture and nothing to be thought about.. :)
