Father surrenders to police after killing daughter's rapist

New Delhi, Nov 2 (Bhaskar News): The father whose teenage daughter was raped by a man in the neighborhood murdered him and surrendered himself to police.

The incident took place in Khajuri Khas region of north-east Delhi.

The 36-year-old father of the victim called the rapist of his 14-year-old daughter, Omkar Singh home and strangled him to death and burnt his private parts.

Thereafter, he went to the police station and turned himself in. As he entered the police station with an iron rod in his hand, he told the officers that he had murdered the rapist of his daughter.

He was arrested on the charges of murder. According to him, his daughter was sexually assaulted by him nearly 3 months ago. However, he threatened both of dire consequences if they revealed anything to anyone about the incident.

When the girl got pregnant, he aborted the child. The father did not file any complaint in this regard then but he wanted justice for his daughter.

Thus, on Friday night, he called Omkar home in order to sort out the matter. When Omkar entered the home, the father strangled him and burnt his private parts. After killing him, he surrendered at Khajuri Khas Police Station.

When the police reached his home, the dead body of Omkar was found in his room which was further sent for post mortem. Medical examination of the girl was also conducted and rape was confirmed.

@ Rita , Germany . Yes its close of kind with HONOUR KILLING . Here the girl is not a kid and there can b chances that she had relationship with the man. So point is that Man is already killed so he cannot put his version of story. In that case Father killed the man instead of daughter, puts it almost close with Honour killing . If above cases are entertained , any body can conspire to kill by framing a INNOCENT , sets a bad presedent in a civilised society.

He is delivered justice to his innocent daughter, whose crime was being a girl.

It is not possible to identify a criminal prior to any incident. Mostly Indians have fear of law, more so getting caught in legal cobweb. But when it comes to criminals, they have no fear at all. A petty offender, once gone through legal procedures, takes up bigger offenses. From this it is pretty clear, our police and legal system, creates bigger monsters from petty thief's.

Secondly, society is almost in a breaking point. There are no social get togetherness. Most festivities are religious centric.

Both needs to change for a healthy India.

Well Done dad. Don't worry about the Judiciary system. They will play it's role in another 20-30 years time. Keep up the good work. Why did you surrender as you have not commited any crime. You eliminated a criminal which Indian police should have done. In fact they should honor you for such a brave act. More and more fathers, common citizens should take up this role for a rapist and not wait for the law and order's help to come in. Jai Ho...

Every one can express their opinion. Who knows the real truth behind this episode. There could be chances the daughter had relationship with the so called rapist, may be it is consensual.
Brutal killing is not an answer, father took law into his hand, this could be pre meditated killing. There is absolutely no peace for both families.

While we it is not a murder at all. It is kind of a family defense like self defense. How one defense himself/herself from bad in a similar way as a responsible head of the family he has done his duty. This should not be punished.

I thnk by FEKU you mean Modi, however sorry to say this , this has nothing to do with Modi whatsoever. Stop your prejudice and blaming everything on a person you have no clue about.

If you have not heard , there is something called as a Court of Law which Modi, or the Central Govt have nothing to do with. Think before you comment.

Well done brave Dad. I am sending a very tight hug for you. I know murder is not the solution but if all dads and brothers come forward to protect their wives, sisters and daughters - only then Rape/dowry/abuse/slavery etc will stop. He did the right thing so that he and his daughter are not ridiculed by the society and the justice system reliving the rape event over and over may be for the next 50 years. His daughter is already scarred for life physically and mentally and no one will come forward to marry her plus they have to live with the fear that the rapist will hurt them again. So eliminating this kind of thorn from the society is the best solution till our justice system is reformed. Will pray for this family to remain strong. Wonder what her mother and siblings are going through. Very very sad that a man's lust to have pleasure for a few mnts destroyed the lives of so many innocent people. Is there anyway daijiworld patrons can help the family? I would be so proud to call him "My Dad" and wish all daughters are blessed with a dad like him.

This will create chaeos in society and no Justice. Anyone can kill calling it a REVENGE. A MURDER no matter what is a serious offence. Morever in above case girl is 14 year old so there r chances she had a relationship with that man and her FATHER objected. It looks likely as i can recall similar incident happened in Bangalore months ago. The above case is nothing less than HONOUR KILLING and attracts serious punishment for FATHER and girl too if she involved in conspiracy.

In view of delayed, lengthy road to justice, bullying culprit & stigma to the ladies, such punishment is an eye opener for the society. Rules say we should not take law in our hands but what is the way out. We have to support such things if system does not change. Judicial process should give due benefit to the girls father, release him on bail, provide security & decide the case early in a fast mode.

theris not stringent laws to punish the rapist in our system. Death penalty with speedy trial will surely help us to combat the rape incidences. I congratulate and salute this man for killing the rapist of his daughter and then surrender. He knew it very well that he wont get justice due to political influence or otherwise. Now no one is dared to look at his family. forget about molestation or rape.. I again salute him...This is how rape accused should be dealt with...
