Mumbai, Nov 3: Noted Kannada actor and MP from Karnataka, Ambareesh who was recently inducted into the union cabinet as minister of state for information and broadcasting arrived in the city on Friday November 3.
He has come to attend the wedding ceremony of Avani, daughter of civil aviation minister Praful Patel and Prashanth Pande, son of former Karnataka minister R V Deshpande. Ambareesh and his wife Sumalatha would also participate in some personal programmes during their stay in the city.
They were welcomed at the Santacruz airport by representatives of various Tulu and Kannada organizations. Narayan R Gowda, noted leader of Vokkaliga community and president of Adichunchanagiri Seva Samiti, Mumbai, K M Ramaswamy Gowda, Rangappa Gowda, Chandan Chari, Mohan Kumar, Shekhar Gowda and several others were present on the occasion.
Later Ambareesh, Sumalatha and several other politicians from Karnataka and VIP’s from all over participated in the first day music programme organized on the occasion of wedding of Prashanth Deshpande and Avani at the Hotel Grand Hyatt on Friday evening.
