Peres meets Sonia


New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS): Former Israeli president Shimon Peres visited Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her residence here Saturday, in what was described as a courtesy call.

During his visit to the country, Peres, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and launched a track II trilateral dialogue on food and water security involving India, Israel and Australia.

After his retirement from active politics, Peres has been spearheading the Peres Centre for Peace, an NGO that works in the field of healthcare, peace, education and science and technology.
