Man held in Gurgaon for raping minor daughter


Gurgaon, Nov 9 (IANS): A 40-year-old man was arrested here Sunday for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter several times during the last two years, police said.

Munna Prasad Gupta from Bihar's Madhubani district, living here in a rented room with his family in the Gandhi Nagar area, was arrested after his minor daughter slapped rape charge on him.

The accused was living in Gurgaon with his family for over six years. He had shifted to his Gandhi Nagar room about eight months ago.

Father of five children, including the victim, Gupta worked as a tailoring supervisor in a garment manufacturing company here.

Police officer Buddhi Prakash said: "The victim is the accused's eldest daughter. She narrated her ordeal to a woman who runs a beauty parlour."

Another senior officer told IANS: "The alleged victim, who left her studies when she was in class 8, has been changing her statement regularly. We are investigating the matter."

Meanwhile, the accused was Sunday presented in the court of the duty magistrate who sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.
