Mangalore, Nov 6: 'Kala Sangam - 2006' a series of programmes for children, young people and the senior citizens organized by Mangalore Musical and Cultural Association (MMCA) here took off on an exciting note.
‘Pushpanjali’, flower arrangement competition was the first event of the three-week programme.
On Sunday, Superintendent of Police B Dayananda inaugurated Kala Sangam in 'Gitanjali' at Lower Bendur here.
Principal of St Aloysius College Fr Eugene Lobo was the chief guest on the occasion. Adolf Lobo, Director MMCA and Jeevan Lobo were present on the occasion.
During Kala Sangama competitions will be held under various categories including drawing, painting, handwriting, essay, quiz, dance, singing, fancy dress and others.
The contests will be based on various categories ranging from kindergarten to senior citizens. The contests are open for all. SP Dayananda also gave away the prizes to the winners of ‘Pushpanjali’ competition.
