Substantial legislations in parliament session: Naidu

New Delhi, Nov 11 (IANS): Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu Tuesday said substantial legislative proposals would be taken up in the coming parliament session and expressed hope that it would be constructive for both ruling and opposition parties.

The winter session of parliament is scheduled to be held from Nov 24-Dec 23.

Speaking to the media after Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Rajiv Pratap Rudy took charge as ministers of state for parliamentary affairs, Naidu said the government would like to take up substantial legislative proposals for introduction as well as for consideration of both the houses of parliament.

The two BJP leaders were inducted into the union council of ministers Sunday in the first expansion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ministry.

Naidu said he had no reason to be sceptical about the proceedings in both houses of parliament.

Referring to the first budget session of the Modi government, he said it proved to be highly productive and there was no reason to expect the winter session to be any different.

Naidu said that the government firmly believed that the opposition be given due space to voice their concerns and views.

"While the opposition should be allowed to have its say, the government should be allowed to have its way," he added.
