Dubai, Nov 12: Freelancing volunteer honorary passion resident journalist of Karnataka in UAE, who have been continuously serving the community for more than two decades voluntarily,joined together on November 9 to form a new association 'Karnataka Media Forum in UAE'. It was inaugurated by the visiting senior journalist, chief of bureau, Udayavani, Manohar Prasad at Fortune Plaza Hotel, Dubai.
The programme started with Vinay Kumar Naik, representative of Namma TV in Dubai, welcoming the guests, Sudhir Kumar Shetty, CEO of UAE Exchange, Sarvotham Shetty, president of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, Pravin Shetty, chairman of Fortune Group of Hotels and Senior Journalist and chief of bureau, Udayavani, Manohar Prasad on to the dais. The guests lighted the auspicious lamp and inaugurated the programme. Representative of various medias witnessed the programme and were welcomed.
Sarvotham Shetty welcomed the new association and appreciated the selfless service of the various media personalities all through these years in publishing the reports of various activities held in this part of the world. Sudhir Kumar Shetty congratulated the new association and guided them to move ahead in right direction. Later Pravin Kumar Shetty of Fortune Group of Hotels, Harish Sherigar of Kannadiga World, Shodhan Prasad, producer of NIREL Tulu Cinema, Prakash Rao Payyar of Dwani Prathistana, Ganesh Rai, former president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Herman Lewis of Radio Spice, Manohar Tonse of Abu Dhabi Billawa Balaga individually spoke on the subject and briefed on the various related occassions. They all promised to continue to keep up the new organisation towards the betterment of timely news information to the public.
Well known visiting senior Journalist, a stalwart in Media, recipient of Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, Media Academy Award Chief, a person who has published more than 3000 articles, who has to his credit more than 200 awards for Journalism, a person who has anchored more than 2000 programmes in local TV channels, MC'd for around 2000 programmes, acted in Konkani Film, presented more than 75 Programme in AIR, writer of more than 50 short stories published. Noted Cricketer and commentator, the Chief of News Bureau Udayavani, Manohar Prasad was felicitated and honoured in the midst of all by the UAE journalist and Guests during the programme.
Manohar Prasad thanked the organisers for the honour and shared some of his most memorable moments, his personal life, his career and his professional life to the gathering. He briefed and guided the newly formed organisation on the subject and wished them success. He said that we should be a bridge between the government and citizens in gathering, assessing, creating, and presenting timely news and information to the public.
The programme concluded with buffet dinner provided by Fortune Group of Hotel and vote of thanks.
