Udupi, Nov 12: Bharathiya Christian Sevadal (R) Shirva along with Karnataka Christa Sanghatanegala Okkuta, Komu Souhardha Vedike, Catholic Sabha Udupi and Catholic Sabha Women’s wing organized a protest condemning the attack on Jacintha Fernandes by Nemmadi Kendra project director Arun Kumar and his driver on Monday, November 10.

Addressing the protesters, Fr William Martis, Udupi diocese, said, "Attack on women is an unpardonable offence. The lady was attacked and a false case was filed against her. Arun Kumar is misusing his power and trying to end this case in a compromise. Politically powerful and rich people are involved in this case. They are pressurizing the police officers to end the case in a compromise. Money and power will never work in front of people support. We will fight legally against this injustice and we will not leave the case until we get justice”.

Accused Arun Kumar

Dalith leader Jayan Malpe alleged, "Arun Kumar is a corrupt officer and he is still not arrested. If police officers are sincere and want to know the truth, they can check the CCTV which is fixed in the residence of Arun Kumar. Police officers in order to grab money have booked Jecintha in a false case. They are doing injustice to victim”.

He furthered vented his anger and said that police officer who booked Jacintha should take off his uniform and work for Arun Kumar as peon. “Is this Goonda state or a democratic nation?’, he alleged.

Hilda Rodrigues, who read the news in Daijiworld, said, "This is an inhumane tendency in a civilized society. Police officers are misusing the power and wrongly booked the lady in case”.

G Rajashekar president of Komu Souhardha Vedike termed this incident as 'Shameful thing in a civilized society'.

Professor K Paniraj also spoke on the occasion and condemned police atrocity.

President of Bharathiya Christian Sevadal (R) Charles Amblekar, vice-president, David D'Souza Shirva, Bonifus D'Souza president of Parish Council Udupi Church and others were present during the protest.

Louis Lobo compered and Melwyin proposed vote of thanks.

My advice to all communal minded readers here is that :

Whenever you feel that you have faced injustice, go to Komu Souhardha Vedike and ask their support to protest on your behalf.

KSV, will surely support you if you have a genuine grievance to be resolved if your problem is not communal related.

Further, law abiding citizens of all communities must protest agaist in action of Madhwaraj, Shobha, police officials to get justice for the poor and helpless "WOMAN" immediately.

    Jai Hind.

Here nothing is involved. Only humanity involves. Helping to a poor lady is nothing but humanity. Even there were some Hindu brothers and sisters and Muslim brothers in the protest. All have come to sympathise a poor lady who is not having any money power and influence in the society. So it is the duty of all people to fight against the people who are having money power and political power.

If this lady belong to SC ST how the police and government, and politicians should be acted. While as christian associations vent their ire in a civilised manner. They dont go about being moral police and take law in own hands. So just dont look at only secular part of it..............look at the otherside of it too. We all will get to see today:
    1. Who were genuinely concerned and hurt for the wrong done, want to ensure justice to the victim and punish wrong doers as a deterrent action.
    2. Who were only giving lip service, pretended to be concerned, nothing beyond that.
    3. Who want us to suffer, want to suppress justice delivery system, suppress voice, find fault by giving communal colour.
    4. Who are hand in glove with oppressors.
    5. Last 2 categories are responsible for ruining law and order of the state. They will reap what they have sown in their life time. It is law of the nature.

Police atrocities is nothing but KJ George's atrocities.....

Just a thought.. when police beat women in Tirthalli last week, no PSEUDO association was protesting. It is OK, if they do not protest (may be they are busy on that day), but is it justified passing lewd comments on injured women in Thirthalli police atrocity?

    Please introspect...
Everyone have the right to live...
    Not only minorities...
All are equal.... Some are "more equal" attitude must die...

Today's protest by PSEUDOS created a scenario that many empathising with Mdm. Jacintha are now confused as the situation is dominated by PSEUDOS...

This way, our associations should take up matters wherever justice is denied, over and above false allegations are put.
Adopting the requirements of present times has become necessity.
Our Associations, formed only for providing basic needs prevalent about 50 year ago, are not of much help in present scenario.

However, no way doing in any wrong legally as well as morally.
