Mangaluru, Nov 13: The daijiworld-Redrocks Children’s Photo Contest on the occasion of Children’s day, 2014 evoked overwhelming response from across the world. Out of the original entries received, after verifying the relevant documents in the preliminary evaluation round, 218 entries were selected for the contest.
Out of these entries only the top 50 (in two categories) were sent to the adjudicators. The judges were given the option to go through each entry individually against certain set down procedures and to assign points to each photograph.
Once the individual points were received, they were collated to arrive at the top 3 and remaining 20 consolation prize winners in each category.
The winners are –
Category ‘A’ – Below two years
First prize winner of Rs 10,000 – Kshiraj Kishore Nayak, Mangalore Second prize winner of Rs 5,000 – Viyaan B Third prize winner of Rs 3,000 – Diha Anchan

Category ‘B’ – Age 2 – 5 years

Consolation prizes: (Rs 1,000 each) - Ethan Shawn Concessao, Anirudh V, Hansika Y, Varun Sheldon Dcosta, Charishma Shetty, Naman Amin, Gyan Pavel Concessao, Freya Dsouza, Julia Mercy Fernandes and Amogh Emanuel Pinto
The first, second and third prize winners will receive a cash amount of Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively and consolation prize winners will receive Rs 1,000, in both categories. The total amount of Rs 56,000 will be disbursed among 26 lucky winners.
Grace Noronha, principal, St Aloysius Gonzaga School in Mangalore, Ravi Posavanike, The Times of India photo journalist and daijiworld’s Daya Kukkaje consisted the panel of judges.
The prizes will be presented during the children’s day celebration at St Aloysius Gonzaga School on November 14 at 9 am.
