Kashmir villagers meet president

New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS): A group of villagers from Jammu and Kashmir Thursday called on President Pranab Mukherjee during a national integration tour organised by the army, an official said.

The tour was organised by the army's Romeo Force for elderly people of Surankote and Mandi regions of Poonch district, a defence ministry spokesman said in a statement.

The tour group - comprising 22 Muslim preachers and village elders - interacted with the president during their stay in New Delhi.

Mukherjee exhorted the villagers to imbibe the virtues of love and peace and asked them to work hard for the better future of the nation.
