Mangalore, Nov 9: Shams Tabriz (50), a Pakistani national, underwent a successful heart surgery at the A J Hospital here recently.

Tabriz was suffering from coronary blockage for six months and had contacted Dr Purushottam of the hospital.

Dr Purushottam approached the union government authorities for a visa to be arranged for the patient. Arriving in Mangalore, the patient underwent a bypass grafting of coronary veins under a team led by Dr Harish Raghavan, with Dr Gururaj Tantri, Dr Prashant Prabhu and Dr Amar.

Tabriz is a non-resident Pakistani employed in Dubai, UAE.

The details of the success story was provided by Dr Purushottam at a media meet on Wednesday.
