Mangalore, Nov 9: A lecture on “Law and Poverty and Role of Legal Aid in Access to Social Justice’ was held at School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya here on Thursday November 9 evening.
The lecture was jointly organized by District Legal Services Authority and Mangalore Bar Association on the eve of Legal Services Day.
Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde was the main speaker on the occasion. District session judge H M Bharatesh, in-charge principal Prof Rita Noronha, advocate M V Shankar Bhat, Bar Association president Monappa Bhandari, secretary Srinivas were also present on the dais.
The programme began with a welcome dance by college students Akshata and Shilpi. Advocate Asha Nayak welcomed the gathering and compered.
