Puttur, Nov 10: The taluk-level sports meet for primary and high school students was inaugurated at Government Pre-university College grounds at Uppinangady near here on Friday November 10 morning.

The sports meet was jointly organized by Dakshina Kannada Zilla Public Instruction Department, Government College Uppinangady and Block Education Office.

The sports meet was inaugurated by Asha Thimmappa Gowda, president of education and health standing committee of Dakshina Kannada ZP. Vinu Varghese, president of gram panchayat, presided over the programme.

Dyampanna Shetty, Gopal Shetty, physical education teachers of the college, Sanjeev Mathandoor, honorary president of the organizing committee and J B Bagewadi, physical education coordinator, Block Education Office, Puttur introduced the guests to the gathering.

Y Shivaramayya, BEO welcomed the gathering while K R Yoganandan, principal of the college proposed the vote of thanks.
