Mangalore, Nov 12: All India Radio Mangalore's station director C P Rajasekharan has received the National Award for Best Public Sector Broadcaster in India.

The award was presented to him by information and broadcasting ministry secretary S K Arora at a function held in India International centre in New Delhi. The award carries a cash purse of Rs 25,000, a memento with Mahatma's Gandhi's image on it and a citation.

It is for the seventh time that Rajasekharan is winning this award. This time's award was in appreciation of a programme broacast following Tsunami. The feature named 'Aadijalam' had invoked public attention towards the role and importance of water in human life. It was written and directed by him.

He has received awards of other kind also.
