After youth, AAP to reach out to women

New Delhi, Nov 20 (IANS): After receiving an "overwhelming" response at the interaction with youth as part of its Delhi Dialogue Campaign, the AAP will reach out to women with its vision for them.

The party has prepared a list of women's issues which revolve around their safety in the capital, party leaders told reporters here Thursday.

The second of its series of interactions as part of the Delhi Dialogue Campaign will be organised Nov 26 - the AAP foundation day.

"There are 10 to 12 issues related to women on which we will explain our policies to them. Women safety and their empowerment will be among them," party leader Ashish Khetan told reporters.

Khetan also said that sexual harassment of women in the unorganised sector would also be part of the interaction.

Toilets for women will also be an issue at the event.

"There are so many things which can be done for women's safety like installing CCTV cameras in DTC buses, at bus stops and shelters," AAP member Atishi Marlena said here.

Khetan said that AAP's women wing and other units have been interacting with women and seeking their suggestions for their empowerment.

The leader also said the party would work for safe accommodation for single women in the capital.
