Five terrorists arrested in Kabul

Kabul, Nov 21 (IANS): Five terrorists have been detained in Afghanistan's capital Kabul, a media report said Friday.

"Five would-be suicide bombers have captured by the personnel of National Directorate of Security (NDS). The captured men planned to launch an attack and target the Second Vice President, Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostom," Xinhua cited Tolo News as stating.

Further details are unavailable, the report said.

The Taliban insurgent group has intensified attacks over the past couple of months as the NATO and US forces are withdrawing from the country. The war-torn country is due to take over the responsibility for its own security from NATO-led troops by the end of year.

On Wednesday, four attackers were killed and several security guards wounded after Taliban insurgents stormed a foreign residential compound in the eastern part of Kabul with a car bomb and guns.
