Udupi, Nov 14: 'We are the World - Our Dreams and Fears,' a three-day national convention of children organised by Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, was inaugurated here on Monday November 13.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pushpa Kini, students' advisor, KMC, Manipal, who inaugurated the programme, said that children must be made aware of their rights and there was a need to prepare them to face the challenges in life.
Students from nearly 20 schools from Karnataka, Goa and Kerala are taking part in the event. Various intellectual and cultural competitions will also be held as part of the convention.
Among those present were Karthik Hebbar who welcomed the gathering, George Kurian, coordinator, who introduced the convention, and Mathew C Ninan, principal, Little Rock Indian School.
