Mangalore, Nov 14: A demonstration of rescue operations and emergency services by fire brigade personnel, CRPF staff stunned the gathering at Sharada Vidyalaya here on Monday November 13.

The demo rescue operations were held on the occasion of National Disaster Reduction Day on Monday.  The rescue operations such as how to act in times of earthquakes, fire break-outs, collapse of buildings etc provided ample information to the people with regard to their role and also as how could the first aid could be delivered to the needy.

The demonstration also was the exhibition of the strength of fire brigade and CRPF personnel. The gathering was enlightened as how the injured could could be lowered down with the help of a single rope and stretcher from a building which has caught fire.

A house which was temporarily erected on the grounds of the Sharada Vidyalaya was set on fire and in a few minutes thereafter, the CRPF and fire brigade personnel showed the gathering as how the fire could be extinguished and the valuables from the house could be saved.

Deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao, SP B Dayanand, ASP Lokesh Kumar, HQ assistant Ashok Bhat, CRPF commandent G S Sandhu, Home Guards commandent Dr Shivprasad Rai and others were present on the occasion.
