Saradha scam: CBI quizzes former Assam minister

Kolkata, Nov 24 (IANS): Senior Congress leader and former Assam minister Anjan Dutta was Monday grilled by the CBI in connection with the multi-crore-rupee Saradha scam.

Dutta, an MLA from Amguri, arrived at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office at the CGO complex here after being summoned by the agency.

Dutta said he has been summoned to give details about his printing business which used to print a Bengali newspaper and other materials for jailed Saradha promoter and purported scam kingpin Sudipta Sen.

The CBI had earlier searched his residence in Assam.

Popular Assamese singer Sadananda Gogoi is already behind bars for his alleged complicity in the scam.
