Udupi, Nov 15: The leaders of the dalit community came heavily upon MLA K Raghupati Bhat and criticized him for his anti-dalit policy during the public meeting held in the city on Monday November 13 morning.

Speaking on the occasion, Jayan Malpe, district convener of Dalit Sangharsh Samiti said that MLA has been busy settling personal score against particular corporate family.  "The very intention behind MLA demanding that district complex should be built at Manipal is not for the good of the public but to score a win over his personal rivals. I think that he should be tied and thrown into the Arabian Sea for the betterment of dalit community," he added.

The public meeting was convened to condemn the irregularities in the new ration cards as well as to demand to appoint for the backlog posts.

Later he shifted his attention towards district in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya and MP Manorama Madhwaraj.  "The in-charge minister is busy with his own agendas.  He is least bothered about the patients who are suffering without 'bed and bread' in the district hospital.  On the other hand MP Manorama Madhwaraj is pretending as if she was elected MP only to oppose Nagarjuna power project.  Her position in the party is very insecure and she is just a number and not an actual member of BJP," he opined.
