Modi asks voters to turn up in large numbers

New Delhi, Nov 25 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday urged voters, especially the youth, to turn up in large numbers and cast their votes in the ongoing elections in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.

"As polls begin in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand, I urge my sisters and brothers in these states to go out and vote in large numbers," the prime minister said in a tweet.

He added: "I particularly call upon my young friends in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand to come out in large numbers and cast their votes."

Balloting began Tuesday in 13 of the 81 assembly constituencies in the first of the five-phase elections in Jharkhand, and 15 assembly constituencies in seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
