Two dead, seven injured in Philippines shooting incident


Manila, Nov 25 (IANS): At least two people were killed and seven others injured when a gunman indiscriminately fired at a crowd in a local carnival in the Philippines.

The shooting happened in Aklan province in central Philippines Monday, Xinhua reported Tuesday.

Police authorities identified the victims Antonina Ricablanca, 16, and Saraki Katiniko Viray, 14. The shooting took place around 9 p.m.

Based on initial police investigation, a clan war is being considered as a motive in the said incident.

Police are currently working out in identifying the suspect as investigation continues. The unidentified suspect remains at large.
