Udupi, Nov 15: A sudden fire in the District Women and Children's Hospital near Alankar theatre here has resulted in loss of valuables worth Rs 3.50 lac.
The hospital sources said that fire erupted owing to short circuit in the operation theatre. As a result some medical and electronic equipments were gutted. A refrigerator, 3 autoclave machines, a bed and other wooden things have been damaged. The total loss as of now has been estimated at Rs 3.50 lac.
However, no casualties have been reported. DC Ponnuraj and CEO Hemlatha visited the hospital immediately and guided the staff in extinguishing the fire.
