Mangalore, Nov 16: A five-day Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) programme on "Developing Communication Skills in Mentally Retarded Children" commenced at M V Shetty College premises here on Wednesday November 15.

The programme has been organised under the auspices of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust and Dr M V Shetty College of Speech and Hearing here and is being held at the college premises. Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) has sponsored the programme.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr M V Shetty College administrative office (academic) Prof S Shivaram Shetty. Trustee Dr Ranjit Shetty presided.

College principal Dr T A Subba Rao, faculty members Dr N Pratibha Karanth and Dr N Shivashankar will be among the resource persons. The programme will discuss various perspectives of communication skills required to interact with mentally retarded children.
