Mumbai, Nov 16: The Siddivinayak Bhajan Mandali organized ‘Shivsagar Trophy Cricket’, one day cricket tournament at the Oval Maidan here recently for teams from undivided district of Dakshina Kannada.

Businessman Shridhar Anchan inaugurated the tournament.

With six taluks (teams) participating in the league matches, the final match was between Udupi and Mangalore teams, who earned highest points in the league matches.  The final match was won by the Mangalorean team. 

An entertainment programme was organized on the same evening. Kalathooru Vishwanath Shetty, youth leader of NCPI, was the chief guest while Naveen K Inna, sports column editor, Karnataka Malla Daily, who was the guest of honour, presented the ‘Shivsagar Trophy’ to the winning team.

Anand Poojary, proprietor, Balaji Caterers, Ramesh Shetty, BJP youth leader and entrepreneur Yashwanth Poojary, were present on the dais. Jaya C Poojary, co-ordinator of the tournament, compered the programme and gave the vote of thanks.
