95 killed in Syria airstrikes

Beirut, Nov 26 (IANS/EFE): At least 95 people have been killed and 120 others injured in airstrikes launched by the Syrian regime in the northeastern province of Raqaa, the stronghold of the Islamic State (IS) Sunni radical group, according to figures released Wednesday by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

The SOHR said that at least 52 of the dead have been identified, including three women and four children.

The government aircraft launched 10 strikes on different areas in Raqaa, including an industrial area, a popular market, the al-Hani mosque and a bus station.

Raqaa is the main IS stronghold in Syria, making it a prime target for both government forces and the US-led international coalition.
