Bhubaneswar, Nov 26 (IANS): The Project Monitoring Group of the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure Wednesday fixed a timeline for completion of pending work of large industrial projects in Odisha.

V.P. Joy, joint secretary in the cabinet secretariat, reviewed 25 projects in both the public and private sectors. These included industries, railways and national highways.

The official fixed a timeline for the completion of pending work, including forest and environment clearances, that are pending at different stages.

Projects in sectors like steel, railways, coal mining and power were reviewed to help overcome bottlenecks.

Odisha government officials were also present in the meeting.

"We reviewed about 25 projects. Issues of land acquisition and forest clearance were discussed. There is good progress here. Project issues were discussed and sorted out," Joy told reporters after the meeting.

He, however, said the Posco project was not reviewed in the meeting.
