Haryana police officer suspended for inaction


Gurgaon, Nov 26 (IANS): An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was suspended for not taking action on a complaint regarding a brawl, police said Wednesday.

Harish Kumar, posted at Sector 29 police station was suspended for not registering the complaint of Dharamveer, a resident of Shikohpur village under Kherki Daula police station.

"Dharamveer, a tempo driver, was allegedly beaten by some people but ASI Harish Kumar refused to act on the complaint," police spokesperson said.

"He (officer) was immediately suspended by Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk after victim Dharamveer's complaint at the commissioner's office Wednesday. A departmental inquiry has been also ordered against accused officer," he said.

The newly appointed police commissioner has said that he will have zero tolerance for corruption and police will take immediately take action on complaints.
