Mangalore, Nov 17: The decennial celebrations of Nammavaru, an association of vipras who are originally from Mysore now settled in the city, will be held from Friday November 17 to Sunday November 19 at Sanghaniketan in Mannagudda here.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday November 16, association organising secretary M S Gururaj informed that the programme will be inaugurated by renowned child dramatist Hirannaiah at 5 pm on November 17.

Akhila Bharata Brahmin Mahamandala former president Dr K P Putturaya will preside over the programme. Hirannaiah, scholar Dr P N Krishnamurthy,  Bajpe airport director M R Vasudev and MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik will be felicitated on the occasion, he said.

Karnataka Bank general manager Jayaram Bhat and former ADGP Suresh Babu will be felicitated on Saturday November 18.

Various cultural programmes will be held on the occasion. Hosanagar Sri Ramachandrapur math seer Rashaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji will bless the occasion, Gururaj said.
