Mangalore, Nov 17:  To mark the completion of 20 fruitful years in the service of culture, Mandd Sobhann has 'Tevllo Dabazo' (triple celebrations) which will be held on Dec 1, 2, and 3. 

A grand event 'Panch, Vees, Satt' which has been planned to bring about awareness on Konkani art and culture has special attractions.

Briefing the press on the same, Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann Eric Ozario on Friday said that the 'Daiz Pradarshan,' a heritage exhibition will be held on Dec 1, 2 and 3 from 9 am to 8 pm. At Kalanngann the exhibition will put on display traditional artifacts, implements, instruments and household articles. Unique about this event, Ozario said was the quiz which will be held on the spot. Those who answer questions related to the exhibits will be given attractive prizes. The contest will be held in 6 different age groups. An overall shield will also be given to the school which wins the maximum prizes. 

Yuva Mahotsav 2006 will be held under the aegis of Karnataka Sahitya Academy and in association with Konkani Yuva Awaz and Mandd Sobhann. This event which will be held in the Amphitheatre at Kalaangann on Dec 1, 2 and 3. 

On Dec 1, PU level contests in dance, singing and skits will be held, while the college-level and open to all contests will be held on Dec 2 and 3 respectively, informed Ozario. The winning teams will be given Rs 5,000, Rs 3, 000 and Rs 2,000 as cash prize. 

The 60th monthly theatres will be staged at Kalaangann on Dec 3 at 6.30 pm. The winning team of Yuva Mahotasav will perform and 'The Best Konkani Youth Team 2006' will be selected and the winning team will receive Rs 5,555 and participating teams will receive Rs 1,000 each. 

Kalaangann so far has conducted over 500 experiments to rejuvenate Konkani culture and art forms. Its constant endevour to bring about awareness on Konkani culture, heritage, arts and language have borne fruit in the form of Kalaangann. 

Co-ordinator of Kalaangann Stany Alvares, President Louis Pinto and PRO Titus Noronha were present at the press meet.
