No evidence found of murder, rape in Badaun sisters case

New Delhi, Nov 27 (PTI): CBI has found no evidence of murder or sexual assault in its probe into the death of two teenage cousins, whose bodies were found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district last May, according to agency sources.

CBI had already decided not to file a charge sheet against the five persons arrested by Uttar Pradesh police --Pappu, Awadhesh and Urvesh Yadav (all three brothers) and constables Chhatrapal Yadav and Sarvesh Yadav-- in connection with alleged gangrape and murder of the two teenagers in Katra village.

Agency sources said today that they did not find evidence that the girls had been murdered or were sexually assaulted before their death.

The agency is likely to file its final report tomorrow in Badaun court.

"The Medical Board has come to conclusion that sexual assault on either of the victims appears doubtful," a senior CBI official had said.

The CBI had taken help of the Hyderabad-based Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) which ruled out sexual assault on the two girls.

There was also conflicting statements by the parents of the two cousins.

The sources said the CDFD report had cleared a lot of doubts raised over the cousins being sexually assaulted before being killed.

The five persons had cleared the lie-detection test. The two cousin sisters--aged 14 and 15--were found hanging from a tree in Badaun district in UP in the last week of May. The incident sparked national outrage with the Samajwadi Party government in the state coming under fire on the issue of law and order situation. The CBI took over the investigation in June.

worst enquiry ever possible! I mean those poor dalit girls, just went and committed suicide you mean!.. I wonder what were those "women's right groups" were actually doing when they went on picnic for so many days, to the spot!!

I serioulsy, dont trust Rajnath Singh any more!... if these appeasement continues, I am sure, revolt will happen from UP land itself! ... I saw his behavior during "love jehad" episode too.. "woh kya hota hai, he smilignly asked"!!... if they think they will revive Mayavati with this, they r grossly mistaken and it will boomerang on them! ... anyways, Mulayam must be laughing to the core!....

BJP, is ignoring the dalit family massacre in Maharastra too.. I will tell you costly mistake it will be..! they have voted u in biig numbers, ignoring their own mayavati, to fight against the misrule of Yadavs! take a cue, and set it right!

This incident clearly exposes BJP double game and the dirty politics it played during election, with the assistance of media. I sincerely hope this exposure will open some eyes and they will no more blindly run after the politicians who incite them.
