Defence organisation gives Rs.48.9 lakh to PM's fund


New Delhi, Nov 27 (IANS): The defence estates organisation Thursday presented a cheque of Rs.48.9 lakh to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar as its contribution to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

According to a defence ministry release, the amount was a voluntary contribution by officers and staff of the defence estates organisation for relief efforts in Jammu and Kashmir which was affected by floods earlier this year.

The cheque was given to Parrikar by Director General Defence Estates Ravi Kant Chopra.
