Rajnath says, India will offer secure environment for tourists


New Delhi, Nov 27 (IANS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Thursday said the government is committed to offering safe and secure framework to the foreign tourists coming to explore India.

"The home ministry will ensure that all the tourists coming to India are safe and secure and we will provide required framework to ensure their safety," said Singh at the launch of the e-visa facility here.

The electronic visa facility for 43 nations was launched at an event here. The facility is aimed at enabling smooth, simple and hassle-free travel arrangements for international tourists.

Singh also pointed out that India has been the centre of attraction for people around the world since times immemorial.

"Travellers since ancient times have been drawn to India to experience its philosophy and spiritualism," he said.

"India also has a unique advantage in tourism sector owing to its geographical location and that no other country offers such abundance of diversity in weather conditions," he added.
