Mangalore, Nov 17: The annual district-level sports meet of pre-university colleges was held at Mangala Stadium here on Friday November 17.
MLA N Yogish Bhat inaugurated the sports meet while MLC Capt Ganesh Karnic received guard of honour by the athletes.
Deputy director of PU Education department Sheelavathi Kolambe hoisted the flag and international-level weightlifter Pushparaj Hegde of Syndicate Bank handed over the sports torch to the competitors.
Chandrakala Nandavar, president of district PUC Principals’ Association, vice-president Fr Lawrence D'Souza, joint secretary Dr Ismail were the chief guests on the occasion.
Apart from students from in around the city, students from pre-university colleges from Bantwal, Puttur, Sullia and Belthangady taluks too participated in the sports meet.
