Mexico City, Nov 29 (IANS/EFE): Hundreds of people occupied a police academy in the Mexican state of Guerrero to protest over the abduction and supposed murder of 43 students in September.
Demonstrators parked vehicles in front of the Institute of Police Science to denounce the failure of the state police to aid the 43 students who were abducted Sep 26 in the town of Iguala. The students belonged to the Ayotzinapa teacher training college.
Protesters painted the walls with slogans such as "We are all the 43" and "Pena murderer", referring to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.
A number of public buildings have also been set on fire, including the Iguala city hall and the seat of the state legislature in Chilpancingo, Guerrero's capital.
Three detained Guerreros Unidos drug cartel members had said that the 43 students were killed and their bodies burnt.
The remains are being examined by specialists in Austria.
