Mangalore, November 18: A meeting of the Vanilla Growers' Association (DK) was organized in collaboration with the Spices Board and the Department of Horticulture on Saturday November 18 at Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work here.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunny D'Souza, secretary, Vanilla Growers' Association said that the Government needs to pay greater attention towards the needs of the vanilla cultivators. He revealed that a fall in the prices has been a cause of concern for the farmers.

A workshop on Vanilla processing was conducted. A C Girish Kumar, Senior Field Officer, Spices Board, Hadiker, addressed the cultivators regarding the topic.

Mukesh Shankar, assistant director, Spices Board, Madikeri, Karyappa P S, president, K R Vidyadar, joint secretary, and Prabhakar Pejattaya, treasurer of the Vanilla Growers' Association, were present on the occasion.
