It is said Denson had come from Bengaluru to appear in court, when Keerthika's father, Nityananda Vaidya, her husband, Giridhar Bhat, and two unidentified persons forcibly took Denson away.
Denson's father Joseph said in his complaint filed in the town police station here on Monday December 1, that he and his son were waiting to appear in the court in the morning, when the above persons who came in a Maruti car took his son away.
In a complaint filed in the town police station here on September 13 this year, Denson was accused of abducting Keerthika. Keerthika, an engineering graduate, had married a photographer from the town, Giridhar Bhat. Keerthika then bagged a job in Bengaluru and began working there. It is said that after coming to know about the relationship between Keerthika and Denson at Bengaluru, Giridhar Bhat ensured that she resigned from her job and started living here.
It is said that Denson continued to keep in touch with Keerthika through a friend after she shifted to the town, but her family was not aware of this development. It is gathered that Denson abducted Keerthika from Kallare here on September 13 this year, and took her to Bengaluru. Although the poliicemen from here, acting on a complaint, had visited Bengaluru and tried to trace her, they did not succeed. There was suspicion that he would have kept her in a hideout.
It is now being widely believed that Keerthika's family would have taken Denson away to extract information about Keerthika's whereabouts. So far, no clue about either Denson or his abductors could be found out.
