AC/DC drummer denies murder threat, drug possession

Wellington, Dec 2 (IANS): Hard rock band AC/DC's drummer Phil Rudd Tuesday denied charges of threatening to kill and possessing drugs.

Rudd, 60, was excused from appearing in New Zealand's Tauranga District Court after his lawyer entered his plea, The New Zealand Herald reported.

He was originally charged with planning the murder of two men, but it was dropped Nov 7 due to lack of evidence. The offence is alleged to have been committed Sep 26.

Police have said that they found the drugs when they raided Rudd's home in Otumoetai Nov 6.

Rudd was further remanded on existing bail terms to next appear at a case review hearing in Tauranga District Court Feb 10, 2015.

No trial date has been set yet.
