Mangaluru, Dec 2: A very popular man in the vicinity of Moodbidri, a centre of attraction during Alva's Nudisiri events, Karkala Banglegudde Radhakrishna Nayak, popularly known as R K Nayak, passed away on Tuesday December 2.
Nayak, who had been working as a security man at Alva's hospital for the past fifteen years, was 54.
Nayak was suffering from heart ailment for which he was taking treatment at Alva's hospital. Recently he was shifted to KMC in Mangaluru where he breathed his last at 4 am.
Nayak had a well-built body and a unique style of dressing which made him the center of attraction. The mere presence of as R K Nayak was enough to draw crowds. The make up and attire would make him virtually a celluloid hero. He was a must at all Alva's events. He mingled with the crowd and shook their hands. He did not differentiate.
In his early days, Nayak worked in a hotel in Hyderabad. He also acted as an assistant villain in four films. He was injured while he was involved in an action scene which made him come back to his native place.
Nayak, then ventured into hotel business where he was not successful. Not to give up, he started working as a security guard at Alva's till his last days.
After a year of joining Alva's as security man, he started wearing Hyderabadi style attire which made him more famous. Everyone who met him wanted to be clicked with him. It is said that Nayak appeared in more than 14,000 photographs.
His hefty stature never frightened anybody as he was man of soft heart. He was always grateful to Dr Mohan Alva, his employer and said that he would never perform anywhere without his permission.
Now the colourful man has moved to a different world.
