Mumbai, Dec 3: BSKB association celebrated Children's day in Gokula at Sion east on last Sunday, November 30. Youth wing president Anup Kukkimane and convener Deepak Shivattaya led enthusiastic youth wing members and office bearers. They set the programme in motion with prayers after lighting traditional lamp.
The hall was decorated with coloured balloons and lights. It was filled with children wearing colourful clothes and their parents. The competitions included 'healthy child' for below two years old, verses for children between two and fifteen years, nursery rhymes, storytelling, music, dance, quiz, fancy dress, drawing etc.
The youth wing had arranged cartoons, tattoos and Magic show sponsored by donors. The winners were given away prizes by vice-president Vaman Holla, Umesh Rao and office bearers.
The judges were Geetha Borkar, Sudha Shetty, Ratnavathi Salian, Amitha Poojary, Sahana Pothi, Prema Rao, Shailini Rao and Geetha Bhat. Dr Arun Rao, Shivayogi Sanmani and Vasanth Herle had cooperated. All the children who participated in the competitions were presented consolation prizes.
The children who came out from the purview of daily TV watching, school and tuitions enjoyed like free birds in Gokula and fulfilled the purpose of Children's day.
