New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS): President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday paid tributes to former president R. Venkataraman on his 104th birth anniversary.
Mukherjee, along with officers and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan, paid floral tributes in front of a portrait of R. Venkataraman at the Durbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, an official statement said.
Modi in a tweet said: "Tributes to former president R. Venkataraman on his birth anniversary. He served India tirelessly through his long years in public life."
Born Dec 4, 1910, Venkataraman was India's eighth president from July 25, 1987 to July 25, 1992. He died Jan 27, 2009.
